KHAO SOK-PHANOM TRAVEL & TOURISM

Follow the jungle trail to a flower that blooms once in a lifetime.
Rafflesia One Day Trek in Khlong Phanom National Park

The trekking route to see the Rafflesia begins near the back hills of
Tham Phueng Village, Moo 6, Khlong Sok Subdistrict, Phanom District.
From the main Surat Thani–Takua Pa highway, enter around kilometer marker 108 and continue for about 4 kilometers. From there, hikers must walk approximately 1.5 kilometers to reach the Rafflesia habitat. The flower is most commonly in bloom from November to May, when the weather and soil moisture are ideal.
Rafflesia, known as the largest flower in the world, is a parasitic species that feeds on the roots of a vine called Tetrastigma (locally known as “Yan Kai Tom”). It is found in abundance in the hills behind Tham Phueng Village. The Rafflesia typically blooms between November and May each year.
